- Two major studies show promising results for estradiol patches as an alternative to traditional hormone therapy.
- The patch method could mean fewer side effects while still effectively treating cancer.”
“How it works:
- Traditional hormone therapy (LHRH agonists) lowers both testosterone.
- AND estrogen, leading to challenging side effects.
- The patch maintains healthy estrogen levels while still lowering testosterone—potentially offering better quality of life.”
“Key findings from the PATCH trial in early-stage prostate cancer:
- Controls testosterone as effectively as standard treatment.
- Fewer hot flashes reported.
- May help protect bone health.
- Similar cancer control outcomes.”
“The STAMPEDE trial studied patients with advanced prostate cancer:
- Confirmed benefits seen in PATCH trial.
