The first of Member Profile series – Lung Cancer Europe
Lung Cancer Europe posted on LinkedIn:
“In the first of our Member Profile series, we look at Spain’s AEACAP.
Founded in December 2008 to help people diagnosed with lung cancer, AEACaP is a non-profit organisation created to meet the needs and represent the rights of people affected by lung cancer in Spain, with the aim of ensuring the highest quality of life.
‘Our vision is to be the primary Spanish organisation for people affected by lung cancer in Spain and the voice that represents them before public and private institutions.’
Its values are ’empathy, closeness, commitment, trust and transparency’. AEACaP is an extremely active body which works tirelessly to inform and raise awareness in Spain about different aspects of lung cancer including:
- the importance of prevention.
- the need for early diagnosis.
- the interest of the different studies developed.
- the diversity of existing treatments.
- the value of optimal coexistence with the disease.
The organisation also provides support and offers legal advice and guidance in defending the rights of those whose lives have been impacted by lung cancer.
