Sebastian Schmidt: Lung Cancer Policy Network’s 2024 achievements
Sebastian Schmidt, Head of Medical Affairs Computed Tomography at Siemens Healthineers, shared a post by , on LinkedIn:
“Many thanks to the Lung Cancer Policy Network and especially to the team around Helena Wilcox !
Lung cancer is a political topic, and it requires political decisions to translate scientific advances into patient benefits.
Screening programs, access to innovative diagnostics and therapies for broad populations are political decisions – the network helps to educate decision makers to do them right.
I am really looking forward to continuing this in 2025!”
“2024 was a milestone year: we built on the evidence we’ve gathered since 2021 to drive significant policy change in lung cancer care. Our efforts to engage policymakers, raise awareness and advocate for better lung cancer outcomes have taken many forms, from impactful webinars and publications to presentations at global conferences.
We’re thrilled to share our new report, ‘2024 in review: from evidence to action’, which highlights the latest activities, achievements and impact of the Lung Cancer Policy Network.
With over 80 members from 34 countries, the Network continues to expand its reach and influence, shaping policy through evidence-based, consensus-driven recommendations.
As we look ahead, we’re more committed than ever to collaborating to drive policy action, as part of the global lung cancer community. Let’s work together to ensure that lung cancer remains a health priority in 2025 and beyond.”
