“Exciting News!

The Clinic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Center is now a reality! Honored to be leading this initiative alongside an exceptional team.

This new center, created by Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, University of Barcelona (UB), and August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), is designed to bring together patient care, cutting-edge research, innovation, and education under one vision: to transform cancer treatment through a more personalized and integrated approach.

Together, we are building a future where cancer care is smarter, more precise, and deeply rooted in excellence in clinical care, research, innovation, and education.

A special thank you to Josep M. Campistol for your outstanding leadership in driving this project forward, as well as Antoni Castells Garangou, Elias Campo and Joan Guàrdia Olmos for their invaluable support in making this vision a reality.

Key Figures of the Clinic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Center:
–Annual budget: 133.2M€ in oncology care, 37.3M€ in research.
–Hospital cancer care capacity: 143 inpatient beds.

–New patients per year: 6,500.
–Radiotherapy: 4 linear accelerators (2 in Granollers).
–Multidisciplinary care: 15 functional units (liver, melanoma, lung, breast…).

–Advanced programs: Immunotherapy (CAR-Ts/TILs), Hereditary Cancer, and the Molecular Tumor Board.
–Clinical research: more than 359 active clinical trials.
—Research groups: 25 groups.

–Annual scientific output: 451 publications.
–Education: 5 UB chairs dedicated to cancer, 3 masters degrees, preceptorships…
