“Excited to share our latest project from the International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP Global Health Network AYA Working Group: Charlas de Café!
This initiative provides a platform to discuss essential topics that are often overlooked. Through these meaningful conversations, we aim to address critical yet underrepresented issues impacting adolescents and young adults with cancer.
Stay tuned for more updates and insights from this unique series!”
Quoting Angel Asins‘s post:
“Cancer and the “Right to be forgotten”
The interview I did with International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP is now live!
I had the chance to discuss the right to be forgotten, a fundamental topic that has a profound impact on pediatric oncology patients and their futures.
We also explored an issue that often goes unspoken but is just as critical: addressing the social and psychological dimensions of cancer. Pediatric cancer doesn’t just affect the body; it changes lives in countless ways—how patients and their families navigate education, work, relationships, and their mental health.
Despite advances in medical treatments, the social and emotional aspects of the disease remain a major challenge, both for our society and for the healthcare system.
It’s time we move beyond the purely clinical perspective and focus on truly holistic care that supports survivors in rebuilding their lives.
Special thanks to Ruzanna Papyan and Gabriella Villanueva, Co-Chair of International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP and my beloved nurse Eugenia Trigoso!
