“Learned a valuable lesson this week
Was so nervous to see a colleague at a conference and feared letting them down by declining a professional opportunity
They then said they respected me *more* for saying no
MENTAL NOTE: Not overpromising and underdelivering helps BOTH sides
Is this … work/life balance? Or at least the beginning of drawing clearer boundaries?
(And yes maybe they were just being nice but it is still food for thought when I’m feeling oversubscribed to the point of inadequacy).“
