“Congress of Integrative Oncology 2023: The Founder/CEO of Medicaid Cancer Foundation, Board Member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and Chairperson of FLAC Nigeria, Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, was invited as a high-level speaker to the 2023 Chinese Congress of Holistic Integrative Oncology (CCHIO), held in Tianjin from the 16th to the 19th.

Under the theme “Cancer Control, Winning in Integration”, the congress convened Oncologists, Researchers, Advocates in oncology and other allied professions from China and 7 other continents. Novel research findings were presented which fostered in-depth discussions and recommendations for global cancer prevention and treatment strategies.

At a private round table on the first day, Shinkafi-Bagudu, known for her unwavering commitment to the cause, stated her willingness to collaborate with all efforts that address barriers in Low-Middle Income Countries (LMICs). The congress emphasized the importance adopting a holistic integrative approach to cancer control using – Chemotherapy, Surgery, Radiotherapy and Mental Therapy.

During the conference, which had over 40,000 participants, a new organization “World Association for Integrative Oncology (WAIO) was established by over 100 Members. Medicaid Cancer Foundation was recognized as an initiating member. This underscores the Foundation’s dedication to advancing International Cooperation through partnerships and knowledge exchange in the fight against cancer.

Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu continues to play a vital role in shaping the landscape of global cancer initiatives. Her active participation in the 2023 Chinese Congress of Holistic Integrative Oncology (CCHIO2023)exemplifies her commitment to driving positive change and fostering collaboration across borders.”
