We celebrated a survivor friend’s end-of-treatment milestone and survivor graduations! Nikolas’ Ninja Network Drew’s Crew #66Strong james dances cancer away
We partnered with local, national, and international nonprofits to raise awareness about survivorship!
We hosted our first Instagram Live, interviewing survivor Ashley Brooks, author of Chemo Kids and tabled at CureFest for Childhood Cancer to connect with survivors and their families!
We led as a team captain for the BeholdBeGold team at the annual ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation 5K and Fun Walk, bringing our community together!
We teamed up with Forever Fighters to host the ‘Beat Cancer and Boogie’ social for teen cancer fighters, survivors, and siblings at Cure Fest! We also interviewed survivor McKenzie Fish, founder of Forever Fighters, for our BBG Survivorship Video Series (stay tuned for its release this year)!
We were featured in National Cancer Institute and Children’s Cancer Cause blogs, as well as the Virginia Lambda Chapter- Alpha Delta Kappa VA Theta magazine!
We became the Regional Lead Coordinator for the ASK Glow Gold Campaign during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and were even featured in the news!
We spoke at Latinas Network, representing Latina leadership and our diverse culture, while spreading awareness in both English and Spanish!
We were invited to speak at Radford University, educating nursing students about the late effects of pediatric cancer treatment. As a proud Board member of Lishy’s Gift, we were also nominated and invited to attend The Scout Guide Roanoke (First Edition) Launch Party, where we connected with others in our community committed to making a difference!
As a proud ambassador for the Fighting Kids Cancer Campaign, I had the honor of sharing my survivorship poem at the annual Charlotte’s Play Yellow Invitational Golf Tournament for the LifeRing Foundation! This was a heartfelt opportunity to help others visualize the hardships and traumatic experiences children and adolescents endure during cancer treatment.
Continued our virtual work with The Children’s Oncology Group Foundation Passport for Care as a beta user for their survivorship tools and resources!
To close Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we raised over $1,000 at our Glaze For Gold – Paint With A Purpose! three-day fundraising event—a major milestone toward transitioning BeholdBeGold into a nonprofit! Thank you Glazed Bisque-It for the partnership opportunity!
