Sibylle Loibl: BMBC registry study is growing internationally

Sibylle Loibl, Chief Executive Officer at the GBG Forschungs GmbH, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“BMBC study: Welcome on board, new international centers!

We are pleased to announce that the BMBC registry study (Brain Metastases in Breast Cancer) is growing internationally! With their participation, the following renowned centers are making a significant contribution to furthering our understanding and treatment of brain metastases in breast cancer:

  • Zurich, Switzerland: Prof. Dr. Isabell Witzel, University Hospital Zurich
  • Lisbon, Portugal: MD Leonor Vasconcelos de Matos, Centro Clinico Champalimaud
  • Brussels, Belgium: Elisa Agostinetto, Jules Bordet Institute

This collaboration underlines the increasing importance of international cooperation in research on brain metastases. With an incidence of over 30% in breast cancer patients, this issue represents a major challenge, both in terms of diagnosis and therapy.

The BMBC study, conducted by GBG Forschungs GmbH in collaboration with the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, AGO-Trafo and AGO-B, aims to:

  • Prospective and retrospective data collection on disease progression and therapies
  • Research into the mechanisms of cerebral metastasis
  • Improvement of treatment options through targeted scientific projects

These international contributions strengthen the basis of the study and are a decisive step towards optimizing patient care worldwide.

We would like to thank all participating centers for their commitment and look forward to a fruitful collaboration!

Further information can be found on our website.”

Ginny Mason, Executive Director at Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation, reshared the post by Renate Haidinger on LinkedIn, adding:

“As a member of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance brain metastasis subgroup, this is the kind of project we want to see happening in more areas.

We need to better understand CNS metastasis and how we might prevent this spread.”
