Some great advice for those who send proposals to the current National Cancer Institute grant funding system – Wafik S. El-Deiry
Some great advice for those who send proposals to the current National Cancer Institute grant funding system. Resilience is what is needed to avoid losing the 88-90% of grant Principal Investigators who do not get funded in any grant review cycle. Just keep going no matter how adverse the circumstances may seem. Why?
1- Because cancer research saves lives.
2- There’s always a better day on the academic roller coaster.
3- Those who persist despite adversity win in the end.
4- Because you know what you’re trying to do is difficult but important.
5- No one ever said it would be easy.
6- With increasing awareness there is always hope even in an unjust system.
