“It’s hard to be the first. When you’re the first, you don’t get the sense of what you’re doing to impact change. It takes courage to do a different thing.
But I stand here knowing that the future is looking bright, indeed.
Every scholar who is a part of the Winn Awards is committed to increasing diversity in clinical trials. Every scholar who is a part of the Winn Awards is committed to eliminating disparities and increasing access for ALL people.
I thank every single one of them for bringing their dedication to the annual convening and taking the momentum back to their institutions. Together, we are making the change.”
