Who are the Cancer Equity Leaders? – NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD)
NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Who are the Cancer Equity Leaders (CEL)?
What does CEL do?
Our new series, Accelerate: Conversations with Cancer Equity Leaders, answers these questions and more! Follow along as we spotlight different CEL members.
For our first installment of the series, we’re spotlighting Marcia Cruz-Correa, MD, PhD.
She discussed her career, her impact on health equity within Hispanic communities—specifically in Puerto Rico, and how CEL collaborates on strategies that address critical gaps in cancer equity infrastructure.
As a two-time CURE grantee (K07 and K22) and Partnerships to Advance Cancer Health Equity (PACHE) Principal Investigator, Dr. Cruz-Correa also touched on how her experience with NCI supported her career and strengthened the development of cancer researchers in Puerto Rico.
Check out her video below and visit our website to read her blog post feature.
