Iain Tan: Excited to work alongside amazing friends and colleagues in CRC research in 2025 and beyond
Iain Tan, Deputy Chair at Division of Medical Oncology at National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“2024 was eventful!
Excited to work alongside amazing friends & colleagues in CRC research, data science & oncology in 2025 & beyond.
Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Research — Coloscript LCG is Singapore’s national CRC research program, supported by NMRC – $25M (5 years). We unite experts from all 3 healthcare clusters, A-STAR, NUS, Duke-NUS & NTU to tackle our most common gender-agnostic cancer. Our focus: subtype-specific research to transform diagnostics, prevention & treatment. I’m clinical chair, Wai Leong: scientific chair. We’ve got an incredible team! — Ashok, Shyam, Vinay, Sunny, Patrick, Qi-Jing, Joseph, Tony and more.
CRC researchers in Singapore & globally: Please do reach out– join us across 5 scientific themes and 2 translational goals!
Data Science — DGCMIO(R). As incoming DyGCMIO (research) for Singhealth, I’ll build upon KK’s remarkable foundational work. Data Science & AI will transform many aspects of healthcare including care delivery & patient outcomes.
Thanks KK for building & passing me this excellent team. It’s a privilege to work with leaders across Singhealth-Duke-NUS including Min Liong, Benedict, Daniel Ting, Mark, Kok Leong, Enny, Tin, Marcus, Liu Nan, Enrico, Chen Ee & more. Excited for collaborations & mutual learning with our friends & counterparts in NHG/NUHS and our digital partners from universities, companies & internationally.
Singhealth has exceptional breadth and depth of talent in data science, analytics & AI, alongside a strong network of local & global collaborators. Together with all our partners, our office aims to provide platforms that empower our researchers & innovators who enable our patients to benefit from the future of healthcare. Patients at the heart of all we do!
Data Science — ANCHOR got off the ground in 2024. Anchor is NCC’s real-world data science program that adopts a population health research approach. ANCHOR describes the experience and journey of all our cancer patients. Very grateful to the team (Melvin, Ryan, Qing Yuan, Wei Chong, Evelyn, Aaron analysts, coordinators & more) + all of NCC. We believe this centre/cluster wide approach is the way forward for data science to make an impact in cancer care!
Oncology- DyChair, Division of Med Onc. I’ve also just taken on the position of DyChair, DMO, to support Ravi, alongside Chee Kian. DMO has > 60 oncologists, a powerhouse of clinical care, education & research in a supportive, conducive environment. I’ll help out in research, education, data/digital & our strategic programs. We build on the legacy & work of giants in med onc, tackling present challenges while shaping the future.
In CRC research, data science & oncology, there’s amazing talent across NCC, Singhealth, SG & globally. I hope to use this platform to highlight, comment, explain implications and impact of new work in these areas. There’s much to be done and the future is bright! Onwards to 2025 & Beyond!”
