Donjeta Zeqa: Honored to have represented Patient Organizations at PharmaHorizon 2025
Donjeta Zeqa, posted the following on LinkedIn:
“Honored to have represented Patient Organizations at PharmaHorizon 2025 during the panel discussion ‘From Expenditure to Investment – Transforming Healthcare Priorities,’ moderated with expertise and professionalism by Rovena Dhroso.
I had the privilege of sharing this meaningful panel with:
Mr. Kliti Hoti, MD-PhD, MBA – President, Novartis Albania, Kosovo & North Macedonia
Mr. Viktor Pankovski – Regional Director, IQVIA NM
Mr. Gazmend Bejtja – WHO Responsible Officer
Mr. Neritan Mullaj – Executive Director, AmCham
From the patient perspective, I had the opportunity to raise some of the most critical challenges in healthcare, supported by real stories of patients. These examples clearly demonstrated the severe consequences of delayed treatments on:
- Health outcomes
- Quality of life
- Patients’ ability to contribute socially and economically
In my speech, I highlighted the following key priorities:
- The importance of timely access to treatment so that no patient is left behind.
- Ensuring Albanian patients have equal opportunities for care, similar to citizens in developed countries.
- Recognizing that quality of life must be at the heart of healthcare strategies and investments.
- The need for patient inclusion in healthcare policymaking to ensure decisions reflect their real needs.
It was inspiring to see stakeholders and policymakers not only listening but also actively engaging in finding ways to tackle these issues. This reflects the growing understanding that investing in health is not a cost—it’s about saving lives, improving quality of life, and strengthening society through a healthier, more productive population.
A heartfelt thank you to all the organizers Pharmaceutical Business Union Dorian Sadiku & SHPF Bujar Spahija Eden Hoxha and participants for making this event possible and ensuring the voice of patients was central to the discussion. Together, we can contribute for a healthcare system where every patient gets the care they need and deserve.”
