Sami (Papacek) Mansfield: Are melanoma cancer survivors a forgotten group?

Sami (Papacek) Mansfield, The founder of Cancer Wellness for Life, posted on LinkedIn:

“Are melanoma cancer survivors a forgotten group? Not anymore!

Did you know? Survival rates for melanoma have improved dramatically thanks to breakthroughs in treatment. In the 1970s, the 5-year survival rate was just 49% today, it’s over 93% for localized cases! And metastatic survival is rapidly progressing with massive improvements this year in treatments and therapies like TIL.

But survivorship isn’t just about beating the disease—it’s about learning to live fully beyond diagnosis and treatment.

That’s why I’m honored to speak at AIM’s Navigating Life With Melanoma: A Survivorship Symposium on December 14, 2024. Together, we’ll explore the tools and strategies that help survivors take charge of their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

What’s in store?

  • Expert talks on survivorship medicine, lifestyle strategies, and the power of supportive care.
  • Actionable tools to maintain health, manage emotions, and embrace life after treatment.
  • A chance to connect with survivors, caregivers, and experts to share stories and gain support.

I’ll be speaking about The Six Lifestyle Pillars for Melanoma.
Patients and Caregivers sharing evidence-based strategies to help you live your best life post-treatment.
