Lisa A. Lacasse: 25 Groups Advocate to Preserve LGBTQ+ Patient Protections in U.S. Court
Lisa A. Lacasse, President of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Everyone deserves to have timely access to health care without fear of discrimination.
American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) and 24 other groups representing millions of health care professionals and patients with serious and chronic health conditions filed an amicus curiae (also known as friend of the court) brief, in the case of State of Tennessee et al. v. Becerra in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
The amicus brief supports maintaining non-discrimination protections in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) patients receiving health care services.
