“Sunday was the one year anniversary of my father’s passing.
A pioneer in the field of cancer pain management, he lived a life of personal and professional adventure—with a persistence and guile that I still find remarkable.
Though I never told him this, he was my most important professional mentor.
Last year, I wrote the attached Forbes piece to capture many of the timeless lessons he taught me about healthcare.
I share these again for those who might find them interesting and helpful.”
Sachin H. Jain is the President and CEO of SCAN Group and Health Plan and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He also serves as a Board Member at The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, an Academic Hospitalist (WOC) at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and a Board Member at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). He is also a board member of Omada Health.
