How Research is revolutionising Lung Cancer Treatment
Oncogene Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer worldwide.
But research can change this.
Just 20 years ago, the primary lung cancer treatments were limited to chemo, surgery and radiotherapy. Research advances in molecular biology and genomics over the past 19 years have been revolutionising this and ushering in more precise treatments. We now have great additional options like targeted therapies, immunotherapies, innovations in radiosurgery and advanced radiation therapies, as well as enhancements in surgical techniques and diagnostic tools.
We want to see more research so more members of our lung cancer community can live longer and better.
As Professor Sanjay Popat of the The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research says, research is fundamental to providing state-of-the-art care.”
