“Takeaways from ASCO Quality Care Symposium 2023:
- Patients and caregivers have substantial, unmet needs and we will only know if we ask.
- System and structural changes, while hard, are the best chance to increase patient and clinician outcomes.
- We need brand new payment models. Fee-for-service (FFS) and value approaches are out of date.
Finally, my deepest thanks to the exceptional planning committee for their hard work and gracious invitation to engage. A highly inclusive and engaging meeting. I am hopeful for the future, because the next crop of leaders are on the case!”
