“Takeaways from ASCO Quality Care Symposium 2023:

1. Patients and caregivers have substantial, unmet needs and we will only know if we ask.
2. System and structural changes, while hard, are the best chance to increase patient and clinician outcomes.
3. We need brand new payment models. Fee-for-service (FFS) and value approaches are out of date.

Finally, my deepest thanks to the exceptional planning committee for their hard work and gracious invitation to engage. A highly inclusive and engaging meeting. I am hopeful for the future, because the next crop of leaders are on the case!”
