Wafik S. El-Deiry: Welcoming Dr. Dinara Ryspayeva to Brown University for Therapeutic Advances in Oncology
Wafik S. El-Deiry, Associate Dean for Oncologic Sciences at the Warren Alpert Medical School and Director of the Legorreta Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Great to welcome Dr. Dinara Ryspayeva, physician-scientist and medical oncologist on her return to Legorreta Cancer Center from Ukraine.
She shared a book autographed by the author in Ukrainian detailing stories from Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, that has been severely damaged by Russian attacks since the beginning of the war in 2022. She had lived in Kharkiv, the 2nd largest city in Ukraine and the first capital of Ukraine for 30 years.
The magnitude of the destruction is shocking, leading one to hope for peace and the human spirit to rebuild.
Dr. Ryspayeva has been conducting research here at Brown to develop novel therapeutics for breast and other malignancies.”
