Toni Choueiri: Cathy Wu and Patrick Ott were recognized as 2 of the leading cancer researchers by STAT

Toni Choueiri, Director of the Lank Center for Genitourinary (GU) Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), shared on X:

“Our Dana-Farber Cancer Center own physician-scientists Drs. Cathy Wu and Patrick Ott were recognized by statnews as two of the leading cancer researchers in the world for their work in developing personalized cancer vaccines with trials conducted.”

Toni Choueiri

Toni K. Choueiri is the Director of the Lank Center for Genitourinary (GU) Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), co-leader of the Kidney Cancer Program at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, and the Jerome and Nancy Kohlberg Chair and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. As a medical oncologist, clinical trialist, and translational researcher, he specializes in treating genitourinary cancers (prostate, bladder, testis, and kidney cancer), with a focus on kidney cancer.

Dr. Catherine J. Wu, MD, serves as Chief of the Division of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies and holds the Lavine Family Chair for Preventative Cancer Therapies at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Wu completed her MD at Stanford University and postdoctoral training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber. Her research focuses on immune response targets and effective antitumor responses. Clinically, she specializes in acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell anemia, stem cell transplantation, and tumor antigens.

Dr. Patrick Ott, MD, PhD, is the Clinical Director of the Melanoma Disease Center and Director of Clinical Sciences at the Center for Immuno-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also a Senior Physician at Dana-Farber and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ott’s clinical interests focus on immunotherapy and melanoma. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at New York University School of Medicine, his residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and his medical degree at Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich.
