People with metastatic breast cancer are now being counted in the state of New South Wales – ABC Global Alliance
ABC Global Alliance shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today we’re sharing some great news!
After 25 years of advocacy by Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), people with metastatic breast cancer are now being counted in the state of New South Wales. The numbers presented by the Cancer Institute New South Wales show that we have been wildly underestimating the amount of people with the disease.
Previously, the Australian estimate was of 10,553 people living with the disease nationally. This new verified data shows 7,900 people (7,850 women and 50 men) with metastatic breast cancer in New South Wales alone. This reveals the urgent need for accurate data nation-wide.”
