Jeremy Slone: Some highlights that stand out from SIOP 2023

Jeremy Slone recently posted on LinkedIn:

“Last week, I attended the International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP Congress for the 11th consecutive year (this time in Ottawa). Some highlights that stand out include: working in-person with colleagues on an ongoing systematic review; enlightening debate on USA vs. European approaches to rhabdomyosarcoma (great work Rajkumar Venkatramani M.D. et al); informative session on malnutrition in children with cancer; meeting up with so many dear friends (too many to list) from around the globe; reconnecting with Andries Gontshwanetse who I worked with for many years in Botswana; discussing project ideas for the SIOP-North America Global Health Committee (which I serve as Vice-Chair); seeing Bella Ehrlich present on treatment-related mortality in children with cancer in LMICs; exciting discussions about St. Jude global efforts; and running the 5k and getting slightly lost for the second consecutive year (plus the annual post-run pic with Neil Ranasinghe). The only negative is that the conference marked the end of Maya Prasad‘s term as my Co-Chair of the Nutrition Network. Join us in Honolulu for SIOP 2024!”
