Kristin Ficks Ainsworth: Mammograms are key to the early detection of breast cancer
Kristin Ficks Ainsworth, Head of Communications Agenus Bio, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When detected early, in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is 99%, and mammograms are key to the early detection of breast cancer.
Mammograms can detect breast cancer up to three years before it can be felt and getting screened every year can reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer by 25% to 30%.
While it is recommended that all women age 40 and over have annual mammograms, talk to your doctor about your family history and discuss your needs based on risk factors. Preventive care is all it takes to make our healthcare journey seamless. “
