“What is the current status of real-world evidence (RWE) in oncology?

According to a study presented at ESMO23, the number of publications on Real-World Evidence (RWE) in oncology has rapidly increased between 2020 and 2022, with Europe ranking second. The increase is noticeable also when looking at the abstracts submitted to ESMO23, where 50% of all submissions (4,580) were RWE studies. These data support the importance of the new ESMO-GROW guidance, which marks an important milestone towards improved accuracy in RWE reporting.”
