Rodney Hicks: The past few months have been a crazy time at the Melbourne Theranostic Innovation Centre

Rodney Hicks, Professor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne and Monash University, shared on LinkedIn:

“If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.” — Mario Andretti, race car driver

The past few months have been a crazy time for me and the Melbourne Theranostic Innovation Centre. As well as opening several new clinical trials and managing a busy clinical PET/CT program, I have traveled to Japan for their Summer PET Symposium, Groningen for TotalBodyPET 2024, Singapore for the International Cancer Imaging Society and Singapore Radiological Society joint meeting, and back to Europe to record lectures for the ICPO Foundation–International Centers for Precision Oncology academy before attending the European Association of Nuclear Medicine Congress in Hamburg this weekend.

In the meantime, I neglected to post a link to a new open source article on total-body PET that I wrote for Seminars in Nuclear Medicine with my colleagues at MTIC. It is available from the link provided. I hope you find it interesting and helpful.
It was great to catch up with pioneers in total-body PET (including Simon Cherry, Terry Jones and my longtime friend, Joel Karp, pictured below) in the Netherlands, where I was humbled to provide the opening lecture in front of many more worthy than me to do so.

A big shout out to our team, especially my dear friend Rob Ware, for keeping the our program humming while I’ve been away.”
