In Tbilisi, Georgia, our team is delivering evidence to the Ministry of Health to support and guide the expansion of the list of cancer medicines covered by public insurance
In a post by Harold Cottin on LinkedIn, it says, “🙋♂️ Since I joined City Cancer Challenge last January, I am often asked for some concrete examples of our action to improve cancer care in the cities.
Currently, C/Can is present in 13 cities across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America, and continues to expand its global network.
In the cities where we operate, C/Can colleagues are supporting local stakeholders to 1/ assess local needs; 2/ design solutions that tackle the specific needs from the city, and 3/ implement them.
For example 👇
– In Kigali, Rwanda, we are implementing a digitalized cancer patient navigation project to reduce the time it takes for individuals to receive cancer diagnoses and care. This initiative focuses on improving the coordination among healthcare professionals and services for breast and cervical cancer patients throughout their treatment journey;
– In Leon, Mexico, our team is working on developing a comprehensive roadmap to enhance cancer care in the city, with a specific emphasis on managing and controlling childhood cancer. This roadmap is based on the findings of a needs assessment conducted in collaboration with local stakeholders;
– In Tbilisi, Georgia, our team is delivering evidence to the Ministry of Health to support and guide the expansion of the list of cancer medicines covered by public insurance and the financial support provided to patients.
🤝 To spearhead these projects, C/Can has established partnerships with over 100 funding and technical organizations from both the public and private sectors.
These collaborations enable C/Can to make tangible contributions to enhancing cancer care in the countries where it operates, with a broader impact on strengthening healthcare systems.”
