“Congratulations to the 2024 recipients of The Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Drs. David Baker, Demis Hassabis, and John Jumper! NIH is honored to have supported the research of Dr. David Baker (UW Medicine), who received half of the prize for his computational protein design work. His accomplishments in creating new kinds of proteins that can be used as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, nanomaterials, or tiny sensors is an incredible example of the value of taxpayer investment in NIH-funded research.
