Andreas Charalambous: Today we explored the experiences of crisis in Sudan, Syria and Ukraine through the eyes of people who were directly involved
Andreas Charalambous, President of European Cancer Organisation, made the following post on LinkedIn:
“‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?’
Martin Luther King, Jr.
This is so true when it comes to Cancer Control in Crises Situations. Today we explored the experiences of crisis in Sudan, Syria and Ukraine through the eyes of people who were directly involved namely M. Tezer Kutluk, Anna Uzlova and Nazik Hammad
Crises are complex and unique to the region they occur and for the future management of such impactful events on cancer control we need the collective knowledge gained over the years. There is no “silver bullet” but working together and learning from each other can certainly tip the odds to better crisis management that will safeguard the health and well-being of people.”
