Micaela Neumann: I had the enormous privilege of representing IFPMA at WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) RC70 in Cairo, Egypt.
Micaela Neumann, Manager, Communications at IFPMA, shared on LinkedIn:
“This week, I had the enormous privilege of representing IFPMA at WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) RC70 in Cairo, Egypt.
Member States and other actors and observers came together across the region to talk through progress on their vision of health for all, by all – particularly for vulnerable populations facing both acute and protracted humanitarian crises.
On behalf of IFPMA, I shared the innovative pharmaceutical industry’s commitment to accelerating action on non-communicable diseases – especially in emergencies. I also came away with a much more nuanced perspective on the different challenges – conflict, climate change, healthcare worker shortages – the region manages while still making efforts to build sustainable, integrated, primary-healthcare-oriented models of care.
The leadership and commitment across the region both humbles me and gives me tremendous hope. Here’s to realizing the vision of health for all, by all.”
