UICC and WHO highlight meaningful engagement of Cancer Survivors and Patients in Global Health Policies
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“UICC is committed to enhancing the meaningful engagement of people with lived experience: cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
At the World Cancer Congress 2024 in Geneva, UICC partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to host a workshop focusing on the importance of including the expertise of people with lived experience to inform and shape cancer policies and care.
WHO has published an article on the Knowledge Action Portal that highlights the key points and outcomes of the event.
It covers topics such as participatory approaches in cancer care and strategies for building capacity among survivors and policymakers.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop inclusive health policies that amplify the voices of those most affected through the WHO Framework for Meaningful Engagement.”
