Tanja Spanic: What an incredible September it has been

Tanja Spanic shared a post on LinkedIn:

”What an incredible September it has been!

This month was packed with international cancer advocacy efforts and important events. It all started on September 6th and 7th with the Patient Summit in Zagreb, organized with our partners SVE za NJU udruga (Association for Support for Children with Cancer) and Udruženje Pacijenata Srbije (Patients’ Association of Serbia). The summit concluded with the signing of the Zagreb Declaration by 25 cancer patient organizations.

Next up was ESMO24, the leading European oncology event, which gets bigger and more impactful each year. I’m so proud of our patient track—every session was packed, and the speakers were phenomenal. Huge thanks to Tanya Kenny and the PAWG team for making it all happen!

After a quick stop at home, I headed to Oxford for the EBCTCG meta-analysis group to discuss future improvements in breast cancer treatments.

Continuing my national advocacy work I also spoke at the 1st CONGRESS of CLINICAL PHARMACY.

To close out the month, I had the honor of delivering the opening keynote at the Invasive Lobular Cancer Symposium in Leuven—an inspiring event that emphasized the need for more attention on this important topic.

Despite this intense international schedule, we moved our EDS office, prepared for Pink October, launched a new edition of our magazine Ed News, started digital literacy workshops, gave talks for companies, submitted several EU grant projects… and that’s just the start. And yes, people still ask me what I actually do!”
