“A preliminary study published in The Lancet and led by Deb Schrag, the Chair of the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, suggests that a single blood test might someday be able to detect more than 50 types of cancer.
“This is the brave new world of testing,” says Deb Schrag. “And although lots more work must be done before this approach becomes standard, it could eventually transform cancer diagnosis and treatment.”
