“I wear pink because I have seen the devastation of breast cancer in my family since my early childhood” – Tomain Murphy
American Cancer Society – North Carolina shared on their LinkedIn page:
” ‘I wear pink because I have seen the devastation of breast cancer in my family since my early childhood. My grandmother, aunt, and mother were all diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, my grandmother and aunt succumbed to their cancers before the age of 55. So, my entire professional career has been dedicated to cancer care for more than 20 years.
“I support the American Cancer Society because of the incredible benefits I have seen patients receive as a result of improved awareness for cancer prevention, the real-time support I observe being provided for patients and their families to reduce the burden of illness, the injection of hope the ACS provides to communities large and small in the fight against cancer, and the passion with which patients continue to be supported into survivorship thus fostering an army of advocates.’
Tomain Murphy, Assistant Vice President Radiation Oncology, Levine Cancer Institute
Ambassador, Men Wear Pink of Greater Charlotte”
