“Proven Woman Leader and a very active Cancer Advocate” – Gevorg Tamamyan speaks about Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu
Gevorg Tamamyan shared on LinkedIn:
“Had a great interview with Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, global cancer advocate and the Chairperson of Medicaid Cancer Foundation in Nigeria. She is running for the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Presidency and I am going to vote for her on October 8! There are two great candidates and persons for the Presidency, Dr. Zainab and Dr. Pramesh, both very well known in the cancer field, that I don’t think they need more introduction, but here are a few reasons why I am going to vote for Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu:
1. She is a proven woman leader and a very active cancer advocate coming from a resource-limited area, and has been trying to improve the cancer care there for many years.
2. Within 90 years of UICC, there was NO President from Africa! This needs to be changed! And I think, it’s time for Africa!
3. She was running also during the last election, and I think a person needs a lot of courage and will to run again! So without any hesitation I would support her!
If this election wins Dr. Zainab, during the next election, I hope Dr. Pramesh will put his candidacy again, and I will be happy to support him, because he is a great candidate too!
The interview will go live shortly.”
