PSMA-PET Image Guided Intensification of Salvage Radiotherapy after Radical Prostatectomy – APCCC
Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A Randomized Controlled Trial of PSMA-PET Image Guided Intensification of Salvage Radiotherapy after Radical Prostatectomy: Which Patients Are Most Likely to Benefit and Other Secondary Analyses out on UroToday + GU OncToday presented at ASTRO24
The study utilized 18F-DCFPyL PSMA PET/CT, known for improving Prostate Cancer detection, to explore its potential in enhancing failure-free survival. The trial included 128 patients with biochemical recurrence (PSA≥0.1 ng/ml), excluding those with prior PSMA PET scans or recent ADT.
Results showed that PSMA PET-intensified salvage radiotherapy led to ‘isotoxic’ improvements in failure-free and treatment-free survival, particularly in patients with PSA levels ≥0.3 ng/ml.”
