How the UN Sustainable Development Goals have informed the design of the MCCCC – Children’s Cancer Institute
Children’s Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our very own Kiri Collins Collins, Head of Built Environment & Infrastructure at Children’s Cancer Institute, together with Bettina Bartos, Principal and Science + Technology Sector Lead, at Billard Leece Partnership have presented their insights on the topic of sustainability in hospital laboratories at the I2SL Annual Conference and Technology Fair in the USA.
I2SL: International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories is the world’s leading international conference focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability in laboratories and other high-tech facilities. Over three days, participants attend technical sessions, network with peers and visit cutting-edge laboratories.
Kiri and Bettina described how the UN Sustainable Development Goals have informed the design of the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MCCCC) – a state-of-the-art facility which brings together research, clinical care, and education – setting new benchmarks in healthcare and research.
This cutting-edge project will embed laboratories within the hospital to foster faster medical advancements and improve patient care.
It’s brilliant to see the MCCCC being recognised on this global stage in acknowledgement for the way this project has made sustainability a priority within a hospital laboratory environment.
Congratulations and thank you to Bettina and Kiri for representing this project so wonderfully.”
