Olubukola Ayodele: Receiving a record-high volume of exceptionally high-quality abstracts from over 15 countries
Olubukola Ayodele shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Vanessa Moss Prize has a long and esteemed history of honouring the remarkable contributions of researchers and individuals in the global oncology field, especially those focusing on low and middle-income countries.
This year, we shifted the call for abstracts, specifically emphasizing individuals actively working to reduce cancer inequalities within their communities. To further amplify these dedicated individuals’ impact, we selected the top ten abstracts for publication in eCancer.
We were delighted to receive a record-high volume of exceptionally high-quality abstracts from over 15 countries. This overwhelming response is a testament to the incredible work being carried out across the globe to address the immensely challenging and complex issue of cancer health disparities.
The scientific team had a challenging task in selecting the top ten abstracts from the submissions. These exceptional abstracts, comprising one oral presentation and nine posters, will be featured at the Cancer Health Disparities Day meeting on November 15th at the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons in London.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to my esteemed panel of judges, whose invaluable contributions have been instrumental in this process. I truly appreciate your time and support. Deborah Mukherji, Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, Ben Simms, Myrna Doumit, Gevorg Tamamyan, Daniel Vilarim Araujo
Additionally, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our friends at ecancer for their ongoing support and collaboration. Mary Guevara Salas, Danny Burke
To those who were unsuccessful on this occasion, we hope this doesn’t discourage you. We salute you for your effort to help reduce cancer health disparities, and your patients/communities are indebted to you. We sincerely hope we can accommodate a larger number to be presented and published next year.
Let us continue championing the cause of addressing cancer inequalities within our communities.
Dr Olubukola Ayodele
Chair, Steering Committee.”
