“This is the reality of breast cancer. It’s not pink and happy, it’s not easy. It’s a ‘good cancer to have.’ It’s a horrible, deadly disease that affects millions of people worldwide. We need more research and better therapies.”
Quoting Sarah Sammons’ post:
“Very sobering statistics (Pan, NEJM 2017).
After surgery and 5 years of endocrine therapy (years 5-20), up to 40% of patients with still develop metastatic HR+, HER2- BC depending on tumor size, grade, genomic scores, and nodal status.
Adjuvant CDK4/6 impact on years 5-20 is unknown.”
