Alique Topalian: Advancing Cancer Education for Latino and Hispanic Communities
Alique Topalian shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Had a great time presenting our abstract “Advancing Cancer Education for Latino and Hispanic Communities: The Bag It Spanish Bicultural Bag” in collaboration with Bag It Cancer Support at the International Cancer Education Conference yesterday. Bag it is an incredible nonprofit that provides patient navigation bags.
Originally in English and then directly translated in to Spanish. Realizing this wasn’t meeting the needs of their community they conducted focus groups and interviews to culturally tailor these bags and provide plain language evidence based materials from organizations such as NCI, AICR, ASCO, AACR and more.
This data is incredibly rich and so powerful!”
