The physician, pathologist and cancer researcher conducts research into the molecular basis of tumor development in the digestive system, especially in the liver and pancreas.
In 2005, he co-founded the tissue bank of the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg, Germany.
At LION conference 2024 Professor Schirmacher will be discussing the immune landscape of liver cancer.
