“Calling All Nurses in Hepatology, HPB Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Oncology and Palliative Care: Join Us for Liver Cancer Nurse’s Study Day!

October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month. At SVUH, we’re committed to providing the best care and support to people affected by liver cancer. With the incidence of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) – the most common form of liver cancer – rising dramatically in recent years, it’s never been more important to raise awareness and offer the latest information on treatments and patient care.

To mark Liver Cancer Awareness Month, we’re hosting a Liver Cancer Nurse’s Study Day on Friday, 4th October 2024. This event is open to all nurses nationally working in Hepatology, HPB Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Oncology and Palliative Care specialties. The event will focus on patient-centred care, delve into the latest advancements in HCC treatment, and explore strategies to enhance care for those living with liver cancer.

Event Details:
Date: Friday, 04/10/2024
Location: Nurse Education Centre, SVUH
Time: 08:45am – 15:30pm

Patients diagnosed with liver cancer face a complex journey, but with a multidisciplinary approach, we can offer them the best possible care and support. At SVUH, we are proud to run Ireland’s most comprehensive HCC service, providing treatments such as liver transplantation, advanced surgeries and access to clinical trials for new therapies. Every patient’s journey is unique, and we are dedicated to offering personalised care that meets their needs.

At this study day, we’ll cover essential topics including:
