Amil Družić: Improving the Assessment of Citizens’ Perception of Risk at ESMO24
Amil Družić, Oncology and Radiotherapy Resident at shared on Linkedin:
“I had the privilege of co-chairing the session ‘Improving the Assessment of Citizens’ Perception of Risk’ at ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2024 in Barcelona, honored to represent the Oncology Clinic, Clinical center University of Sarajevo.
The session explored how to better understand health risk perception and improve public awareness, communication, and engagement, especially in cancer prevention. During my lecture, titled ‘Social Media Interventions,’ I explored the transformative power of digital platforms in influencing public health behaviors.
The HPV awareness campaign we did, promoting the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC), showed how targeted messaging can shift public awareness and make a real impact on prevention efforts.
A special thanks to Jerome Foucaud PhD and Dafydd Gareth Evans for their insightful lectures, and to Prof. Christine Chomienne for chairing the session.
Together, we reaffirmed the importance of driving impactful solutions to elevate public understanding of cancer prevention.
Let’s continue pushing forward with strategies that make a lasting difference!”
