Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Gathering advocates to discuss Cervical Cancer at WHO HQ
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu posted the following on LinkedIn:
“At the WHA 77 in May 2024, a resolution was passed to implement, strengthen, and sustain social participation in decision-making processes that affect health. Thus, I am pleased that today, after weeks of preparation, brainstorming, a powerful group of advocates and players will gather at World Health Organization HQ to discuss Cervical cancer. I will be participating in 3 separate sessions happening on the margins of the World Cancer Congress.
In a lived experience session titled, ‘Together in Action: Turning Commitments into Reality’, we will examine the importance of mobilizing communities to demand for cervical cancer elimination.
As the Vice Chair of the National Cervical Cancer Task Force of Nigeria, I look forward to ideas and partnerships that will ultimately ease our task of mobilizing resources, raising awareness, and improving access to care for both prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.
See the posters for session details.”
