“Working together in the era of personalized care for older adults with cancer” – SIOG

“The ESMO/SIOG working group hosted a special session today at ESMO24 highlighting the holistic approach to cancer care for older adults: ‘Working together in the era of personalized care for older adults with cancer.’

The session was chaired by medical oncologist Ravindran Kanesvara, and geriatrician Rabia Boulahssass. Two cases were presented: one by Etienne G. Brain, regarding metastatic breast cancer treatment considered from the perspective of medical oncologist Laura Biganzoli and the other by Ravindran Kanesvara, who brought a case of prostate cancer to Axel S. Merseburger for the perspective of a urologist. This session demonstrated to all in the room how a multidisciplinary approach can improve patient outcomes for adults with cancer.”
