“The City Cancer Challenge facilitated a series of meetings in Nairobi, last week, from 3rd to 6th of September led by the Nairobi stakeholders.
The meetings were organized in the following thematic areas: Cancer Diagnosis, Cancer treatment, Patient and community access and Quality and management of cancer services Health financing and cancer care governance.
We discussed the findings of the just concluded city-wide needs assessment, highlighting the main challenges in Human Resources for health, Cancer care infrastructure and quality and management of cancer services. We also proposed solutions to the challenges.
The next steps include compiling this in a situational analysis report, followed by prioritization of solutions. Project initiation and implementation will follow in that order. The aim is to implement projects that meet the needs of the people and that will create impact.
We are elated about this milestone and we can’t wait to share the situational analysis report with you once completed.
