Joshua Omale: Addressing financial burdens on families

“Day 12: Addressing financial burdens on families
In Nigeria, where the healthcare system does not often get enough funding as supposed, the financial burden of childhood cancer treatment can be devastating. Many families sell everything they own or go into deep debt just to give their child a fighting chance. For too many, the cost becomes an insurmountable barrier.
We need policies that address this financial strain – subsidies, insurance coverage, and financial aid programs. No family should have to choose between poverty and the life of their child. This is a matter of justice and humanity.”
