On September 12-13, the President’s Cancer Panel will convene key experts from across the cancer care and research community to discuss strategies to realize the National Cancer Plan’s goal to optimize the workforce. Information gathered during this event will guide the development of the Panel’s report to the President of the United States. This meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast live.”

Robert A. Winn, M.D., is the Director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and a professor at VCU School of Medicine. Winn oversees nearly 150 scientists and clinical investigators and is nationally recognized for his community engagement efforts.

He manages a research lab focusing on lung cancer and health disparities, supported by NIH and Veterans Affairs Merit awards. Previously, he directed the University of Illinois Cancer Center and held various leadership roles at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
