Meet the speakers of CityU – AFCR Symposium – Charles Hu

CityU-AFCR Symposium on Precision Medicine and Digital Medicine will go on from 12-13 September as part of BIOHK2024.

The symposium will showcase presentations by BRACE award winners and experts in precision medicine, providing a dynamic platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and fostering a collaborative environment for advancements in the biotechnology field.

One of the Speakers is Charles Hu, PhD, Founder and CEO, Ryoden Medical Holdings

 Charles Hu is a visiting Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences and Industrial Advisor of Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong, vice president of the BIOHK international biotechnology conventions, board member of two biotechnology companies, member of the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA) and the Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization (HKBIO).

He was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award and Best Sci-Tech Innovation Project in 2023 by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (“CGCC”) in Hong Kong.

He obtained his PhD from Johns Hopkins University, BS from University of California, Berkeley, and his scientific expertise interfaces across biomedical engineering, regenerative medicine, interventional radiology, and materials science. He is also experienced in research commercialization and in MNC pharma product development and medical affairs.

He co-founded Incando Therapeutics to bring innovative therapeutic technologies to the clinical stage and targeting difficult to treat diseases including recurrent cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. On the business front, Charles heads Ryoden Medical Holdings where he oversees healthcare venture investments for his family office, advises angel investors and startups, and actively engages in policy discussions in support of biomedical innovations and youth talent development.
