Quoting Françoise Meunier, Member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine, on LinkedIn:
“Dear network,
I am pleased to announce that the registrations are now open for the High-Level Conference on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, to take place on 15 February 2024, from 9 AM to 5 PM, at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels.
The conference will gather numerous key stakeholders including cancer survivors, European Union and national policy-makers, legal experts, and representatives from insurance companies. They will discuss hurdles in obtaining insurance or loans, sharing best practices to eliminate discrimination against cancer survivors in the European Union.
As of yet, I am pleased to confirm the participation of Commissioners for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides, and for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union, Mairead McGuinness as well as Belgian Ministers of Health and Social Affairs, Frank Vandenbroucke, and of Economy and Employment, Pierre-Yves Dermagne.
This conference represents a collective endeavour to enact real change for all cancer survivors within the European Union and beyond. I firmly believe that cancer survivors should not pay twice, let us act to ensure this is no longer the case.
I cordially invite you to reserve this date and complete the registration form for attendance. Registration is both free and mandatory. The agenda is accessible here.
